Occitanie Region
The Occitanie Region covers 13 departments with Toulouse and Montpellier as its main cities. It is headed by Madame Carole Delga (since 2016), with over 6 million inhabitants on a 72000 km2 territory. The administrative services of the Region employ approximately 8,000 agents. Its main missions include economic development, vocational training, management of high schools, regional transportation, territorial planning, and ecological transition. It plays a key role in supporting businesses, promoting innovation, and aiding agriculture and tourism. Occitanie is also committed to developing digital infrastructure, and preserving natural and cultural heritage.
